How to read a digital miner listing

Educational only. This is not financial, legal, or tax advice. Listings, fees, and VIP rules change. Confirm the live card in the app before you pay. Bitcoin Mining Hub is independent and is not GoMining.

A digital miner card looks simple: a price, a power number, an efficiency number, sometimes a badge. Those fields are not a forecast. They describe a claim on hashrate and the cost of running it.

This guide uses GoMining’s public product pages and docs as the example, checked on 2 October 2026. Other platforms use different labels.

Start with power, not the dollar price

TH/s (terahashes per second) is the computing power assigned to that miner. On GoMining’s digital-miner page, the public estimator uses examples such as 4 TH at a stated efficiency. Recent activity on that page also shows much larger upgrades.

Your share of pool rewards scales with that power relative to the whole Bitcoin network. It does not scale with a fixed dollar amount. On 2 October 2026, mempool.space reported difficulty near 132.76 trillion and a hashrate reading around 983 EH/s. The next retarget, at height 969,696, was estimated near +0.13% with about 215 blocks left. Those figures move. They are the backdrop for every TH you buy, not a payout quote.

CoinGecko’s Bitcoin price the same day was about $86,700. A catalog model built at a different price will not match that tape. Treat any “expected rewards” line as a scenario.

W/TH is the electricity line in disguise

W/TH is watts per terahash: how much power the underlying machines use for each unit of hashrate. Lower is more efficient. GoMining’s public estimator highlights 12 W/TH as a common setting. Marketplace and upgrade rows also show less efficient miners, including figures in the mid-teens of W/TH. Efficiency is a property of that miner, not of your account.

Official docs split maintenance into electricity plus equipment service, deducted from the pool reward after discounts:

Net reward = pool reward − (electricity + service) × (1 − discounts).

Electricity scales with watts. Service is tied to the hardware share. A cheaper listing with worse W/TH can cost more every day than a dearer, more efficient one. The card rarely prints that comparison in dollars. The rewards screen does, after you own it. Read efficiency before you fall in love with the purchase price.

The price is an entry ticket, not a yield

GoMining’s catalog page, checked the same day, advertised digital miners from $12.99 and a modeled annual payback “up to 37.45%,” with a footnote that the figure was calculated at a Bitcoin price of $70,000. That is a marketing model under a stated assumption. It is not a contract, and it is not what the network paid on 2 October.

The price you pay buys the recorded share — often a unique miner you can later list. A listing is not a bid. Secondary prices can sit above or below what you paid. Liquidity is a separate risk from the TH number.

Farm level is mostly a retired label

Older write-ups talk about mining-farm level as the discount ladder. GoMining’s maintenance docs now say the VIP discount replaced that system. Users still on Bronze I, Bronze II, or Silver I kept the old rates until their level changed. After a change, the new VIP rates apply.

If a screenshot still says “farm level,” do not assume it sets today’s fee. The discount that matters is the one the rewards page applies on payout day.

VIP is a fee discount, not extra hashrate

VIP status is personal. Docs say the maintenance discount depends on total TH or veGOMINING votes, whichever path the program uses, from 0.3% at Bronze II up to 6% at Elite. The published example: two miners totaling 18 TH sit at Silver I with a 0.6% maintenance discount, and need 7 TH more to reach the next discount step.

The public VIP page also lists other perks by tier. Those are not the same thing as a higher share of blocks. A 0.6% fee discount does not make an 18 TH miner behave like a larger one. It trims the maintenance line.

Welcome offers can grant a temporary VIP tier. Referral code awW0t is optional. Public terms have included a free Platinum+ month that must be activated in the app. Offers change. Confirm on GoMining’s referral page. A temporary tier is not a permanent discount.

Discounts stack on the fee, and they can expire

Three documented discounts sit on maintenance, not on the purchase price:

A separate mining-mode discount exists only outside the trial, and its size follows veTokenomics votes. It is not a fixed percent. Bonus-miner rewards do not get the token discount. None of these caps are guaranteed to stick.

A short checklist before you buy

Small TH still produces a small share of a huge network. It can teach you the fee screen. It cannot outrun difficulty, a weak hashprice, or a platform you do not understand.
